TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Two days before 2017 ended, a farmer died while two others were hurt in separate stabbing incidents in the region.
Dionisio Banan, 38, was killed after 72-year old farmer Jose Gamata stabbed him on the chest in Barangay San Vicente, Iguig, Cagayan on Saturday, December 30.
Police said the two had a heated argument in a drinking session in the suspect’s house. At the height of the verbal exchange, Gamata pushed Banan outside the house and stabbed him.
Banan was rushed to Cagayan valley medical Center, this city, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
In Aurora, Isabela, a 22-year old woman was wounded after being stabbed in the back by suspect Rolando Angeles, 20, the same night.
Police said before the incident, the victim the suspect had an altercation at a beer house in nearby San Manuel town. The two again had an altercation in a boarding house where the suspect allegedly slapped the victim and hacked her with a kitchen knife on her back, police said.
The victim was rushed to Tibio-Padron Medical Hospital in the town, while the suspect was arrested by police patrol.
Meanwhile, a 22-year old carpenter from Santiago City was hacked in another drinking session, the same night.
Police said victim John-John Gallo Genese was stabbed in the lower back by beer mates Clarence Telan Sangui, 25, and Leonilo Telan Petinez, 35.
City police said the incident stemmed from an argument after the victim reportedly took pulutan without asking permission from the suspects.
After the incident, the suspects immediately fled with a motorcycle, while the victim was rushed to Southern Isabela General Hospital. Northernforum.net
