3 drug suspects killed in Cagayan shootout

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Three drug suspects were killed in a shootout with police and drug enforcers in Cagayan on Monday night, August 14.

In a press release, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 2 identified the two suspects as Has Cali, a resident of Angeles City in Pampanga, and the other as Asnail Datu, a resident of Quezon City. The other fatality have yet to be identified.

PDEA said the three suspects responded with fire when authorities tried to serve their arrest warrant around 10 pm on Monday night in Barangay Tupang, Alcala, Cagayan.

Confiscated during the operation were one (1) piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride known as “shabu” weighing MOL 2.5 grams with estimated market value P16,000.

Also, recovered items were: one (1) transparent plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing MOL 50 grams; two (2) cal .38 revolver with seven (7) live ammos; Toyota Vios and assorted identification cards.
