TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Police Regional Office (PRO2)-Cagayan Valley has 343 new recruits after going through a rigorous selection and screening by the region’s Recruitment and Selection Board.
PRO2 Regional Director CSupt. Robert G. Quenery administered the oathtaking ceremony of the said police recruits, composed of 283 males and 60 females, on Wednesday at the PRO2 Grandstand, Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City. The activity was witnessed by PRO2 officers, parents, relatives and friends of the new recruits.
Quenery challenged the police recruits to serve the community with dedication, pride and honor.
“Men who adopt the profession of arms, submit their own free will to a law of perpetual constraints of their own accord. They resist their right to live where they choose, to say what they think, to dress as they like. It needs but an order to settle them from their families and dislocate their normal lives. In the world of commands, they must rise, march, run, endure bad weather, and go out without sleep or food, be isolated in some distant post, work until they drop. They have ceased to become masters of their own fate. If they drop on their tracks, their ashes shall be scattered in the four winds. That is all part and parcel of their job.” Quenery said.
After the traditional reception, the said recruits were immediately turned-over to the Regional Training Center 2, Cauayan City, Isabela for their six months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC), five months Field Training Exercise (FTX) in the different police stations selected as Filed Training Centers (FTC) and a month Field Training Evaluation and Assessment (FTA) to complete the one year Field Training Program (FTP). Said batch of recruits is one of the biggest PRO2 quota in the history of PRO2 Recruitment. PNA
