In a report, Tuguegarao City police chief Superintendent Jessie Tamayao said two suspects aboard a motorcycle threw a hand grenade in Conner town Mayor Leonardo Dangoy’s house around 7:30 pm. One of Dangoy’s aide, Medrano Dungi Pilic, died on the spot after sustaining shrapnel wounds on the head and chest. Dangoy’s son Leomark and granddaughter Aiza were also injured. Tamayao said Dangoy was inside the compound, too when the blast hit their house but was not hurt. Neighbors reported about hearing gunshots before the blast happened. Police have now launched a thorough investigation to identify the suspects and their motives.
