TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Malacañang Palace on Thursday, July 13, announced the appointment of Atty. Raul Loyola Lambino as the new administrator of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA).
“Pursuant to the provisions of the existing laws, you are hereby appointed ADMINISTRATOR AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, WITH CABINET RANK, CAGAYAN ECONOMIC ZONE AUTHORITY,” said an appointment letter signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. It was dated July 5, 2016.
Lambino will be replacing Jose Mari Ponce, who held CEZA’s top position since 2004.
Lambino was former lawyer of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. He also served as spokesman of Arroyo when the latter was detained at Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
The Northern Forum has requested for interview to Lambino but he has yet to respond.
CEZA spokesperson Joyce Calimag told The Northern Forum that Lambino has yet to formally take over the position as Ponce is yet to come home from abroad.
Calimag, however, said the turnover is “as soon as possible” to welcome the new CEZA chief. Northernforum.net
