Cagayan culture, arts, and tourism officers elected

TUGUEGARO CITY, Philippines- Newly elected officers of Cagayan Culture and the Arts and Tourism Organization (CCATO) took their oath of office in Riverview Hotel, Gonzaga on Wednesday, September 27.

In a press release, Cagayan Provincial Information Office stated that the officers were composed of Municipal Tourism Officers (MTO) and focal persons who underwent an enhancement seminar as part of the Provincial Tourism Office’s (PTO) retooling program.

The new CCATO officers are the following:
President- Jernelli Alejandro Ruiz (Pamplona)
Vice President- Eleazar Simon (Claveria)
Secretary- John Frey Bauag (Rizal)
Treasurer- Arlyn Ventican (Sta. Ana)
Auditor- Rommel Ursua (Allacapan)
Press Relation Officer- Roger Ramos (Tuao)
Board of Directors:
1st District- Jundel John Cabanela (Gonzaga)
Raona Mabotas (Baggao)
2nd District- Benedicto Santo Tomas (Piat)
Paul Bugaring (Abulug)
3rd District- Jennelson Gorospe (Amulung)
Janine Lumactod (Iguig)
Tuguegarao City- Maximillian Umoso

PTO Officer-in-Charge lawyer Maria Rosario Mamba-Villaflor said the CCATO aims to strengthen the force of local government units with regard to tourism.

“Sa pamamagitan ninyo, mas mapapaigting pa natin ang ating connectivity at partnership bilang mga tourism advocates,” Villaflor said in the release.

In the enhancement seminar, Department of Tourism Region 02 Director Virgilio Maguigad announced some of the approved road infrastructure projects under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Project (TRIP).

Meanwhile, Santa Teresita Mayor Lolita Garcia gave a presentation on the Namunit Festival, Bakong Production, and the town’s caves.

Cagayan Economic Zone Authority Community Specialist Grace Ruiz, ang Community Specialist also showed the Case Study and Success Story of the Palaui Environmental Protectors Association or PEPA.

In the following days, the participants reportedly visited Santa Teresita’s caves, Palaui Island’s Cape Engano, Nature Village of the Palaui Environmental Protectors Association cin Punta Verde, and Saint Anthony Museum in Santa Ana. Northernforum.net
