Cagayan jail breaker put back behind bars

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines– An alleged drug suspect who broke out of Cagayan Provincial Jail was caught on Sunday night, November 19.

The escaped inmate was identified as 43-year old Ferdinand Badajos Gacias.

In a press release, Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) said that the jail guard found out that one of the prisoners was missing after conducting a roll call of prisoners inside the jail.

PRO2 said the inmate climbed at the concrete fence located at the western part of the jail and fled.

Forces of Tuguegarao City Police Station and the provincial jail then conducted a hot pursuit operation on Gacias.

At around 9 pm, the escaped inmate was found in the public cemetery in Pengue-Ruyu, this city. He was immediately brought to the city police station.

PRO2 said the inmate city police eventually turned-over Gacias to the provincial jail.

Meanwhile, PRO2 Director Police Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery commended the operating troops for bringing the inmate back behind bars.

Further, Quenery in the release extended his appreciation to the people who assisted the police in the arrest of the inmate. Northernforum.net
