TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan First District Representative Ramon Nolasco received his Thomasian Alumni Award on Sunday, January 21, for his service in the government.
The award was granted by the University of Sto. Tomas Alumni Association Inc. (USTAAI).
In an official statement, USTAAI President Henry Tenedero said the award is “envisioned to inspire and challenge the recipients to lead the Thomasian core values of Compassion, Competence, and Commitment.”
Nolasco obtained his undergraduate degree on Political Science in 1968, and his Bachelor of Laws in 1976.
“The UST Alumni Association recognizes that these individuals carry the name of the University in all their endeavors, and the ceremony was initiated as a call for the recipients to lead a life of servant leadership anchored in the Thomasian values,” Tenedero said.
The same award was given to Malacañang Usec. Mocha Uson, which generated flaks online, with the student government and student publications issuing denouncements on the decision to include Uson. Northernforum.net
