TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – The schools division of Cagayan was declared the over-all championship for the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet 2018.
The championship title marked Cagayan’s 3-peat success in topping the region’s highest sports athletic meet.
Before losing to Nueva Vizcaya in 2015, the province was over-all champion for six consecutive years.
Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba led the the province’s delegations during the closing ceremonies held at the Cagayan Sports Complex on Thursday, March 1.
The province notched 114 gold medals, 89 silver medals, and 110 bronze medals.
Provincial information officer Rogie Sending said the Cagayan delegations brought home all the gold medals for Arnis.
Aside from winning the over-all championship title, Cagayan was also awarded: Best Delegation during Parade, People’s Choice Award for K to 12 Booth, Best in Attendance during the Closing Ceremonies, Best Adjudged K to 12 Booth, and Most Disciplined Delegation.
