Cagayan Valley cops, soon to have operational chopper

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) may have an operational chopper this summer according to Police Information Officer and spokesperson of Camp Crame, PBGEN Bernard M. Banac on a press conference.

PBGEN Banac said that the helicopter for the region is part of the modernization equipment of the Philippine National Police (PNP). “The PNP right now is in the process of procurement of additional numbers of helicopters”, he added.

He also said that there are scheduled helicopters to be delivered by April and in the middle of the year. “I’m sure that region 2 will have its own helicopter but let’s see the distribution. As of now, we have five operational helicopters in the country”, PBGEN Banac added.

Recently, Regional Director PBGEN Angelito Casimiro promised that he will try to request for a helicopter for the region to be used during calamities. “Our region is very mountainous and when there are calamities, this is one of the equipment we need for operations”, PBGEN Casimiro said.

Last year, Casimiro told the media that the request for the helicopter is on process.
