CEZA fires up @24 launching “MAJOR” projects

STA. ANA, Cagayan—CEZA’s week-long celebration of its 24th anniversary fired up different activities and launched their Major projects this year.

To spice up the celebration, the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) started their celebration in conducting the 1st CEZA Sports and Culinary festival.

Leonardo C. Cruz, Special Assistant to the Administrator and CEO for Administration and Quality Management System in his statement during the interview, “the sports festival aims to foster synergy and camaraderie among the friendly competitors”.

“The sport festival will be a prelude to a bigger sports gathering that will be initiated again by CEZA this coming summer”, Cruz added.

Meanwhile, CEZA also conducted a Coastal clean-up and tree planting along coastal barangays, Casambalangan, Rapuli, Diora Zinungan to San Vicente.

The Awarding night which was conducted on Feb. 24, 2019 was attended by USec. Raymundo Roquero, Ceza deputy administrator, representative of Sec. Raul L. Lambino, CEZA Administrator.

Afterwards, CEZA started the ground breaking of their major projects anchored to the 24th anniversary, the ground breaking of Port Irene four units warehouse project worth 301 million pesos.

Another, the construction of Corporate Center and Commercial Center with an estimated project cost of 426 million pesos.

Wave of Innovation

“In this age of a dizzying technological revolution that gave us the Internet and Smartphone, I thought it’s fitting that CEZA should be a part of the current wave of innovations sweeping the tech world”.

Last year, CEZA discovered the block chain and cryptocurrency initiative fittingly christened “Crypto Valley in Asia”.

“What historical event approach CEZA is the construction of “City of Polaris or the North Star”. This major project will be funded by a Singaporean based company, “Long Run Capital Limited” with 4.5 billion dollars”, Lambino said during the press conference at CEZA’s new satellite building.

Lambino also explained the City of Polaris, “It is an Ocean-view, of 203-hectare property envisioned to be a CEZA township project. It is open for mixed-use development and shall have business spaces for IT-BPO companies, commercial and residential areas, health, wellness, leisure and recreational facilities”.

Moreover, Lambino emphasized that the City of Polaris will boost for the economic status of Cagayan by giving around 10,000 jobs to the locals of the municipality.

Furthermore, the construction of San Vicente Wharf or the take-off point to tourism destinations in the Cagayan Freeport such as Palaui Island.

Lastly, CEZA has developed a 2-hectare Sanitary Landfill for phase 1 to be expanded up to 10-hectare to address the current requirements of the Cagayan Freeport. It will answer the waste management issue of the future constructed facilities in CEZA.

Environmental Risk

During the press conference, Lambino was ask regarding the land that will be occupied by this massive projects in CEZA.

In his answer, Lambino explained, “I assure that this projects was studied before implanting and there are requirements to the preservation and protection of the natural land here in Sta. Ana.”

“The investors are pro-environment, I assure you that this projects will be beneficial to our locals and neighbouring municipalities”, Lambino added.
