TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines-Executive Assistant to the City Mayor and former councilor Estelita Dayag urged the 7th City Council to pass an ordinance seeking to retool employees of the city government.
Dayag said they plan to do this through three methods: Training, Reorganization, and ‘Computerization’.
She said the city government plans to study their current organizational structure to determine which functions must be added or removed.
Dayag and Mayor Jefferson Soriano admitted that the city hall has difficulty promoting employees because many are “not eligible,” citing the need for employees to be subjected to more training or to pursue further studies.
The former city councilor also mentioned the transition of the city government’s services into an online or “e-governance” system through a “computerization program” through a proposed computer laboratory and personnel training with the help of the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
“When they (employees) know their job, mas efficient ira, menos gastos ta gubyernu, and at the same time, mas nakasta y madeliver da nga serbisy,” commented Mayor Soriano. Northernforum.net
