Dela Rosa orders Cagayan Valley cops: Never surrender stations from NPA attacks

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa told regional police here to “never run away” when they are attacked by communist rebels.

In his visit in Camp Marcelo Adduru here on Wednesday, October 04, Dela Rosa ordered the police to fight valiantly against New People’s Army (NPA) and to defend their respective police stations when attacked.

“Siguraduhin ninyo na ‘wag kayong sumurender, to fight up to the last drop of your blood [and] up to the last bullet of your firearm. Lumaban kayo hanggang sa katapusan,” said Dela Rosa.

“’Wag kayong tumakbo. You have to defend your police station,” added the police general.

He also said that he has appointed “most skilled” provincial directors here in Cagayan Valley, noting Quirino Provincial Police Director Police Senior Superintendent Gregory Bogñalbal as a seasoned fighter from the police’s Special Action Force.

In April this year, suspected NPA rebels attacked Maddela Police Station in Quirino which resulted to the death of Police Officer 02 Jerome Luwi Cabasal Cardenas. The rebel group has also been active in Nueva Vizcaya in the past months.

The national police chief served as guest of honor for the celebration of Police Regional Office 02’ 116th Police Service Anniversary in this city. Northernforum.net
