Duterte appoints Fr. Ranhilio Aquino in 25-member Cha-cha consultative committee

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Fr. Ranhilio Callangan Aquino as one of the 25 members of the consultative committee tasked to review the 1987 Constitution.

Duterte signed their appointment on Wednesday, January 24, but was only released to media on Thursday, January 25. He initially assigned 19 members.

Aquino, a well-known constitutionalist, is currently the vice president for administration of Cagayan State University (CSU) and the dean of the Graduate School of Law in San Beda College.

He also administers mass in the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao.

The committee will be chaired by former Supreme Court Justice Reynato Puno.
