Duterte appoints Isabela Gov. Dy as head of reg’l peace, order council

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has confirmed the appoinment of Governor Faustino “Bojie” Dy III of the Province of Isabela as the Cagayan Valley Regional Peace and Order Council (CVRPOC) Chairperson, the regional interior and local government said in a press release.

In a press, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Cagayan, serving as the CVRPOC Secretariat, said they were informed of Dy’s appointment on a letter from the Interim National Peace and Order Council Secretariat- Department of the Interior and Local Government- Bureau of Local Government Supervision (DILG-BLGS). The letter was dated February 15, 2017.

After his appointment, Dy attended the 1st Special meeting of interior Secretary Mike Sueno with RPOC chairpersons and vice chairpersons for Luzon cluster on February 21.

His appointment certificate was given in the said special meeting.

As chairman, Dy will head the council composed of governors, League of Municipalities and Cities in the region, regional line agencies,Army, Philippine National Police, and private sector representatives.

PNP Cagayan Valley regional chief Superintendent Eliseo Rasco was appointed by the President as vice chairman of CVRPOC.

The council was previously headed by Quirino Governor Junie Cua, where he passed a number of anti-illegal drugs campaign and measures resolutions and initiated, in partnership with the Regional Development Council the conduct of drug test to all heads of regional-line agencies and members of the two (2) councils as a prelude in achieving a “drug-free workplace.” –Northernforum.net
