Former 17th IB commander urges troops to support new commander

ALCALA, Cagayan- Lt. Col Jesus Pagala has been relieved as the commanding officer of 17th Infantry battalion, 5th infantry division, Philippine Army and is urging his troops to support the new commander.

Lt. Col. Angelo Saguiguit assumed as acting commander of the 17th IB as ordered by the 5th ID commanding officer, MGEN Pablo Lorenzo.

Pagala said that his support for the 17th IB will always remain strong.

“I urged the troops to support the newly designated commanding officer to be more effective”, he added.

Lt. Col Saguiguit expressed his gratitude as the new acting commanding officer.

“I will do my best and motivate my troops to do better and be more effective commander of 17th IB”, he added.

I’ll ensure that my area of responsibility will maintain peace and order.

We will prevail against the menace of this society”, said Saguiguit.

Furthermore, Pagala is designated as the operations officer of 5th ID.

He received various awards for exemplifying in his previous assignment.

Meanwhile, MGen. Lorenzo said that the terminal awards of Pagala was commendable.

“Jesus stay as commanding officer of 17th was fruitful. Indeed, you are deserving and worthy of the new designation”, he added.

Lorenzo told Saguiguit that his confident to the new commander to perform well.
