Improvement of Tuguegarao’s Pinacanauan overflow bridge pushed

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Pinacanauan overflow bridge in this city may soon be converted into a regular bridge, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said on Tuesday, August 22.

The governor said this plan had been discussed and passed in the recent Regional Development Council (RDC) meeting, wherein Mamba chairs the Infrastructure and Development Committee (IDC).

Mamba said the possible bridge may either be an aqueduct-type or a regular permanent bridge.

The conversion of the overflow bridge was among the ideas tackled in a public forum for the supposed relocation of the Tuguegarao City Airport to the Tuao-Piat-Solana area.

Former City Mayor Jefferson Soriano, who was in attendance in the forum, gave this suggestion to IDC Chairman Mamba. He said that this proposal has been under discussion by the city government since 2013. Northernforum.net
