Is Cagayan governor Mamba not running for re-election on 2019 polls?

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said on Tuesday, October 17, that he will be running for vice governor.

In his speech during the groundbreaking ceremonies for P9-million provincial engineer’s office, Mamba hinted that “someone” will replace for the gubernatorial candidacy for the the 2019 elections..

Mamba is only serving his first term after his victory the 2016 national elections. He ran under the ticket of Liberal Party.

Mamba made the statement as he was discussing his planned five bridges along Cagayan River.

“Kahit makapag-umpisa lang ako ng two bridges muna for my first term. Although I may not have my second term. Siguro sa second term ko, vice governor muna ako,” Mamba said.

“Kasi mayroon akong gustong maging gobernador dito na plantsahin na namin ‘tong Cagayan para lahat ng trapo mawala,” he added.

The administration of Mamba has yet to get a nod for their proposed budget at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, composed mostly of opposition members. Northernforum.net
