CITY OF ILAGAN, Philippines- The local chief executive here bares his plan to establish multi-grain mechanical dryers to be used by Isabela farmers.
Gov. Faustino G. Dy III said the usual program of the provincial government of constructing multi-purpose drying pavement will still continue and added to these are the establishment of multi-grain mechanical dryers to be set up in various parts of the province.
He said the palay harvests during the rainy season are destroyed due to lack or absence of mechanical dryers.
“We want to establish mechanical dryers in various parts of the province to prevent the damage of agriculture harvests of our farmers,” Dy said.
He said the provincial government will ask the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 2 for assistance to realize the project as a solution to the plight of Isabela farmers in drying their harvest during the rainy season.
Should the establishment of mechanical dryer project be realized, he said it will be set up in corn-producing areas in the northern, eastern and southern parts of the province. Merlito Egdale/PIA/Northernforum.net
