JICA opens leadership courses for Cagayanos

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through the JICA Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) will be in this city to promote courses on young leadership, August 18.

Mayor Lloyd Antiporda of Buguey, interim president of JAAP- Cagayan Chapter, said no less that JAAP President Atty. Powell Del Rosario, Councilor of Roxas City is expected to be in Tuguegarao to promote courses on Science and Mathematics and Agri-Tourism scheduled on November this year and January 2018, respectively in Choguko, Japan.

He said scholarship is open to both local government units and non-governmental organizations.

“We hope the human resources department, including the training divisions of these sectors, can send representatives for a meeting at Pension Roma,” Antiporda said.

He expressed anticipation Cagayanos will grab the opportunity given by JICA.

Antiporda was one of the graduates of leadership courses in Japan sponsored by JICA in 2015 and was elected as Board of Trustees of JAAP this year.

JICA is a government organization in Japan chartered with assisting economic and social growth in developing countries first established in 1974 and formed on October 1. 2003. It is one of the largest bilateral development organizations in the world with a network of 97 overseas in 150 countries.

Antiporda identified the other officials who will join Del Rosario’s party as JAAP Vice-President and Vice- Governor of Ilo-Ilo Christine Garin and Boy Delgado, MPDC of Igbaras, Ilo-ilo. Like Antiporda, both are board of trustees of JAAP. Benjie S. De Yro/Northernforum.net
