TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba on Wednesday, December 21, said shifting of party is more of “personal,” rather than of political affiliation.
“My relationship with the president will be defined not by party affiliation, but by personal relationships, but defined by what he is fighting and the problems that he would want to solve,” Mamba said during his speech at the joint meeting of Provincial Development Council (PDC) and Peace and Public Order Council (PPOC).
Mamba, who recently jumped ship from Liberal Party to ruling political party PDP-Laban, made the statement as he expressed support to Duterte’s campaign against corruptions, illegal drugs and insurgency and terrorism.
Mamba said he crossed to Duterte’s party because he was impressed of the president’s performance during his first year of administration, adding that it was only during the administration of Duterte where the administration of Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) was changed.
“Ngayon lang natanggal ‘yung overstaying na administrador ng CEZA, it is a microcosm of the corruption of this country. Awa ng Diyos, natanggal na iyong administrador. You have seen kung paano inabuso iyong CEZA natin,” the governor said.
He added that he believed the president was “trying his best” in solving the problems, even in an “unorthodox” and “uncommon” practice. Northernforum.net
