NGCP restores Lawin-damaged power lines

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has restored all its transmission lines damaged by super typhoon Lawin (Haima), making its full services available to all grid customers in southern Isabela and this province.

Lilibeth Gaydowen, corporate communications and public affairs officer, said they already completed the restoration of all power transmission lines damaged by ‘Lawin’ ten days after the typhoon’s landfall.

“Despite the bad weather condition, we fulfilled our promise to restore the affected facilities ahead of schedule,” Gaydowen said, adding that their line personnel in the field have been working 24/7 to restore the damaged transmission facilities and to fulfill the NGCP’s commitment to the public.

She assured that all Lawin-affected transmission lines are now operating under normal conditions.

She said NGCP personnel are now assisting in the restoration activities of the Cagayan Electric Cooperative-I’s backbone lines from Baybayog, Alcala to Centro Baggao here. She added that some of their personnel were also assigned to augment the workforce of CAGECO-I and II in the massive restoration of their distribution lines. Oliver Baccay/PIA
