NGCP: Toppled electrical posts in Tuguegarao up in1 week

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Electrical poles damaged during the onslaught of Typhoon Lawin here could already be restored by October 29, Saturday according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Lilibeth Gaydowen, Northern Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said they aim to restore the affected transmission lines by Saturday (Oct. 29) while lines with lesser damage may be restored earlier.

The NGCP here has reported 72 toppled electrical poles and 96 leaning poles along the Tuguegarao-Cabagan, Tuguegarao-Tabuk and Tuguegarao-Magapit-Camalaniugan-Sta.Ana 69-kV lines, following aerial inspections made Friday.

However, Gaydowen also made note that additional damages-information are still expected to come in after inspectors go on foot in hard to reach damaged areas.

Among the affected Electric Cooperatives damaged according to NGCP are Isabela Electric Cooperative II (ISELCO II’s) Cabagan and the entire franchise areas of Kalinga Electric Cooperative (KAELCO), Cagayan Electric Cooperative I (CAGELCO I) and Cagayan Electric Cooperative II (CAGELCO II).

The National Electrification Administration also has approved request by CAGELCO I of the Task Force Kapatid wherein cellphone lines were disseminated which typhoon victims may report broken post, lines and other electrical distribution line damages in their areas.
