Nueva Vizcaya student leaders undergo training

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Student leaders from around 60 public and private schools in Nueva Vizcaya underwent student leadership training at the province’s Pasalubong Center in Bayombong on Friday, September 22.

In a press release from the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, the training was conducted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in cooperation with the Department of Education-Division of Nueva Vizcaya (DepEd-NV).

The training centered on personality development, particularly in students’ ability to affirm information or experiences that threaten their self-concept; decision making to enhance critical thinking skills, and developing communication skills, the release stated.

In the release, DepEd-NV Planning Officer on Youth Programs Geepee Kelsey Vidad  said, “The said activity aims to further hone the leadership skills and personal character of student leaders from public and private secondary schools,”

Provincial Accountant Santiago Soliven and Provincial Administrator Officer-in-Charge Jovito Celestino also led the training through various games and activities.

Vice Governor Epifanio Galima Jr said in his message that the training prepares and nurtures future leaders.

The provincial government said the activity is in preparation of the Children’s Month celebration on November. Northernforum.net
