TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Thousands of Cagayanos welcome the pilgrim image of Portugal’s Our Lady of Fatima as she visited several town parishes in the province.
The pilgrim image arrived in Cagayan on Tuesday, August 28, from its visit in Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur, as part of its worldwide tour to mark the 100 years anniversary of the Marian apparitions in Fatima, Portugal.
The image was brought to Buguey and Gonzaga town where thousands of Marian devotees join procession and welcome Mass.
The image was then paraded to the town of Aparri, where a mass was also celebrated.
On Wednesday morning, August 29, the image proceeded to Amulung town. It was brought to Tuguegarao City later in the afternoon.
An overnight vigil was held at the St. Peter’s Metropolitan Cathedral.
A farewell Mass was celebrated on Thursday, August 30, before it was transferred to the shrine of Our Lady of Piat in Piat, Cagayan.
The image, which was blessed by Pope Francis, is believed to grant favors and manifest miracles. Northernforum.net
