PDEA agent shot dead in Tuguegarao

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent was killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Tuguegarao City on Monday, October 2.

In a report, Superintendent Edward Guzman, Tuguegarao City police chief, identified the victim as Mark Anthony Ventura, a resident of City Homes in Barangay San Gabriel in this city.

Guzman said two unidentified suspects shot Ventura while riding at the back of a motorcycle driven by Jonathan Juan in San Roque Street in Barangay Pengue Ruyu.

Ventura sustained gunshot wounds in his body, causing his immediate death.

Police recovered five bullet shells of .45 caliber gun in the crime scene.

Guzman said intelligence operatives were deployed to conduct hot pursuit as investigations roll in.

Meanwhile, the PDEA Cagayan Valley’s official Facebook page changed their profile picture into black ribbon as sign of their mourning and call for justice on Ventura’s death. Northernforum.net
