1. The very deep and turbulent waters fronting the Punta Lakay-Lakay rock formations in Claveria, Cagayan have always been sacred among the local fishermen in the area. Either they removed their hats or throw coins as a sign of respect.

It was introduced to the world during the Ybanag, a cultural show at the then newly opened Cultural Center of the Philippines.
7. ‘Balay Idi Punganay’ in Pattao, Buguey, Cagayan is the only specialty restaurant in Cagayan which offers fresh seafoods of all kinds.

17. Jennifer Dunuan of Baggao, Cagayan has one of the most beautiful faces among pageant candidates in the province. Her classic face, has the same contour with that of Miss Universe Margarita Moran. This might be the reason why Seiko Films gave her the screen name Margarita Milan when Jen entered showbiz after graduation from the Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao.
18. “Bukas, Luluhod Ang Mga Tala,” a Sharon Cuneta starrer demanded two fire trucks from BFP Tuguegarao to control the local screaming fans when the movie became the opening show of Kingly Cinema in 1985.
19. The Ybanags originally pronounced Buntun Bridge with a ‘V’.
20. A local tobacco variety was named after a great tributary of the Cagayan River which nourishes it into a world-class tobacco, the Matalag River.
