Rep Ting sees no need to jump to PDP-Laban, reaffirms Duterte support

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Third District Representative Randolph Ting clarified that he did not reject the invitation to join PDP-Laban.

Congressman Ting said in an interview with the media on Friday, November 17, that he already has a working coalition with the ruling party.

“I am very supportive of the president so I don’t think there is a need for me to join PDP because our party is in coalition with Partido Demokratiko Pilipino. So wala namang problema,” he said.

“In our own principle, puwede naman tayong sumuporta sa presidente na hindi sumasama sa kaniyang partido,” he added.

Now in his final term in congress, the former Tuguegarao City mayor said he does not like to switch parties just because of “political expediency.”

“Hindi ko kasi makita sa personal level ko na palipat-lipat ako ng partido dahil lang na gusto kong mapanatili sa aking puwesto,” Ting said.

When asked who will he be in 2019, the congressman just replied, “I’m still Randy Ting.”

Ting said it is still early to think of the elections, amid some rumors that he will run for a higher post in the coming elections.

“Basta ako pa rin si Randy Ting. Alam yan at kilala ‘yan ng taumbayan magmula nung noon,” he said.

In a live interview with The Northern Forum, Ting, who is currently the committee chairman on labor and employment in the lower house, said he is still focused on his work, especially on amending the labor code. Northernforum.net
