Rep. Ting urges Tuguegarao gov’t to intensify security efforts amid killings

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Third District Representative Randolph Ting urged the city government to address the security and safety concerns of the people amid the recent spate of killings in the city.

In an interview on Friday, October 6, Ting said the city government should mobilize its public safety office well in identifying suspicious individuals in the city.

Ting made the comment as the occurrences of killings perpetrated by motorcycle riding-in-tandem gunmen evidently rose recently.

Ting suggested that the POSO should make use of its newly-acquired vehicles and equipment in ensuring the city’s security.

He added that installing closed-circuit camera television (CCTV) around the city would help in solving the cases of riding-in-tandem killings.

Earlier, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa also urged the local police to solve cases of execution-style killings around the province.

Cagayan police director Senior Superintendent Warren Tolito said the operatives have been working round the clock in solving such cases.

Tolito in an interview The Northern Forum said they are even extending to outside jurisdictions in the hope of looking for possible leads. Northernforum.net
