TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The president of the Rotaract Club of Tuguegarao Citadel said the Project BASICS is their way to show support to government’s thrust of Whole-of-Nation approach under Executive Order No. 70 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte during its launching today in Enrile, Cagayan.
Attended by over 215 grade 10 of Enrile Vocational High School, the youth forum spearheaded by the Rotaract Club of Tuguegarao Citadel and its mother club, Rotary, aims to bring the services and programs of the government and other stakeholders to the communities and schools particularly Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Kabataan Kontra sa Droga At Terorismo (KKDAT) program, anti-criminality campaign, among others.
The youth forum dubbed as “Project BASICS: B-ringing youth A-nd the government & other S-takeholders to an I-nteractive discussion in the C-ommunities and S-chools” was in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Enrile town, Local Government Unit of Enrile and Tuguegarao City Police Station.
Mangada said the project is just one of the many lined-up activities the clubs will be implementing in the days to come.
Cloyd Velasco, rotary president-elect said the Project BASICS is primarily centered to empower and capacitate youth.
Police Lieutenant Isabelita B. Gano, administrative chief and PIO of the Tuguegarao City Police Station shared how progressive groups recruit youth to join their movement as she urged everyone to choose which group they should be joining with.
“Hindi makabubuti sa inyo ang pagsanib sa mga rebelde at makakaliwang grupo. Mag-aral na lang kayo nang mabuti para sa ikagaganda ng inyong kinabukasan,” Gano added.
Gano aslo discussed to the youth-participants the I’ll effects of illegal drugs highlighting the government’s war on drugs.
The event was also attended by Vannesa A. Decena who represented Enrile Mayor Miguel Decena Jr., SK Federation President Alfonso Sarmiento, different SK chairmen of Enrile town, school’s Head Teacher III Ma’am Myrna Parallag, rotarians and rotaractors of Tugueguerao Citadel.
The Project BASICS will be one of the pet projects of the Rotaract Club of Tuguegarao Citadel which will be rolled out in various schools and communities in Cagayan province and nearby towns. TNF
