TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Tropical Depression Odette has slightly intensifies as it heads to Cagayan area, the the state weather bureau PAGASA said in its advisory 5 am on Thursday, October 12.
The following areas were place under Storm Signal Number 1:
- Cagayan, including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands
- Isabela
- Kalinga
- Apayao
- Abra
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
PAGASA said Odette has maximum winds of up to 55 kph and gustiness of up to 65 kph. It is expected to make landfall over the coasts of Cagayan on Friday, October 13.
The tropical depression was last located 730 km east of Tuguegarao City and is moving at 26 kilometers per hour (kph).
It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday, October 14.
PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains is expected within the 350 kilometers diameter of the tropical depression. Residents in these areas advised to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides.
They also warned fisherfolk and those with small seacrafts not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of northern and central Luzon due to approaching tropical depression. Northernforum.net
