TUGUEGARAO CITY, PHILIPPINES- A barangay captain from Tuguegarao City was ambushed by two motorcycle-driving gunmen at about 9:15 am on Thursday, May 25.
In a phone interview, Superintendent Edward Guzman, city police chief, identified the victim as certain Gerry Quilang, the barangay captain of Linao West in Tuguegarao.
Guzman said the gunmen were wearing face masks and jackets. Their motorcycle has no registration plate, he added.
Quilang sustained gunshot wounds in his body and was brought to a private hospital for treatment.
Guzman said they have now alerted the police checkpoints to spot the suspects. Northernforum.net
