Tuguegarao mayor supports Martial Law in Mindanao

TUGUEGARAO CITY, PHILIPPINES- City mayor Benvienido De Guzman supports the declaration of martial law by President Rodrigo Duterte to quell the threat of terror in Mindanao.

“We support the action of the president in declaring martial law in Mindanao and we are not as much worried as to its basis for any way under the constitution. We have full support that the president has been supplied with the sufficient facts that can justify the declaration of martial law in Mindanao,” the mayor said.

On the other hand, Engineer Sammy Estepa, 65, farmer in Allacapan, Cagayan, said: “We hope that the Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) will quell and stop the lawless violence and rebellion in Mindanao. I believe the declaration of martial law in Mindanao is good for the people.”

Meanwhile, The entire Cagayan Valley region is now on full alert following the declaration of martial law and in response to the armed conflict in Marawi City, according to Police Regional Office (PRO2) information officer, Superintendent Chevalier Iringan. PNA
