Two suspects in Cagayan, Isabela holdups nabbed

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Authorities on Sunday, January 14, arrested two suspects allegedly involved in holdup incidents in Cagayan and Isabela provinces.

In a press release, the Cagayan Valley police regional office said the two suspects, identified as Teddy Santos, 49 and a resident of Barangay Cattaran, Solana, Cagayan, and the other as certain Roberto Pestano, 48 and a resident of Barangay Minanga Sur, San Pablo, Isabela.

Police said the suspects were cornered soon after the barangay chairman of Barangay Naganacan in Santa Maria, Isabela reported to patrolling policemen that a “suspicious” Mitsubishi vehicle was roaming around the community.

Cagayan Valley police director Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery said the suspects, who are now under the custody of Santa Maria police, “might be behind the series of holdup incidents” in Isabela and Cagayan.

“Ang pagkakadakip ng dalawang suspek ay patunay lamang na nagtatrabaho ang ating mga pulis upang matiyak ang kaayusan at kaligtasan ng mga mamayan saan mang sulok ng rehiyon,” Quenery said.

Recovered from the suspects were one .45 caliber with two magazines and 13 live ammunition, one Guage 12 shotgun with one bullet, different types of live ammunition, four cellphones, bonnet, face mask, kitchen knife, samurai and  cash amounting to P19,000.

The suspects are now facing charges for carrying unlicensed and undocumented firearms. Northernforum.net
