TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) assured the public that they will ensure ensure safety and security in the region in observance of “Undas” on Tuesday, October 31, to Thursday, November 2.
PRO2 said in a press release that they have deployed “enough number of policemen” in Cagayan Valley.
In the release, PRO2 Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery has directed all policemen in Cagayan Valley to “intensify security operations and public safety plans” during All Saints Day and All Souls Day.”
Qunery also said there is a high possibility of accidents to occur because the week is expected to bring influx of people to the cemeteries while others take advantage of the occasion as a non-working holiday.
Further, Quenery said “the movement of people, utilizing all forms of transportation, usually creates traffic jams or congestion along major thoroughfares and roads leading to transport terminals.”
He also ordered police units to strengthen public safety services to aid the public and address the upsurge of commuters, motorists, and travelers “to prevent congestion, accidents, and other street crimes.”
Meanwhile, Quenery reminded the public especially those who will be travelling in these days to avoid wearing jewelries, bring huge sums of money, and refrain from using expensive gadgets in the streets or inside public vehicles.
“I would like also to appeal to the public to support and cooperate with the security protocols of the police so we can attain a peaceful and orderly observance of Undas,” added Quenery. Northernforum.net
