Valley Cops wins Golden Eagle Award

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) won its first Golden Eagle Award for excellent police service at Camp Crame, Quezon City on Monday, August 14.

PRO2 Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Robert G. Quenery, along with high ranking PNP officials including former Tuguegarao City Mayor and Retired Police Deputy Director General Jefferson P. Soriano, recieved the award from the PNP Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM).

In a press release, the Valley Cops reportedly earned the highest percentage score. They stated that this April, “PRO2 underwent a rigorous Proficiency Evaluation Process Performance Audit” passing “with flying colors” and garnering perfect scores of five.

Furthermore, they also got three scores above 4.31 for best practices in five elements  assessed. Overall, they got an average score of 4.71, a near perfect mark.

On June 21 earlier this year, the office also earned high praises from the National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (NAG-PTD) in the Unit Certification and Governance Reporting for the Proficiency Stage.

By then, the regional police office had set its sights for the prestigious award.

“The police personnel of PRO 2 are not just there for the job or compensation but also because of their genuine love to serve the people of Cagayan Valley. They saw the need and they have the passion to serve the people…,” said NAG-PTD Vice Chair Constancia de Guzman.

She added that PRO2 deserved such an award.

The release stated that this ‘Proficiency Stage’ is the “third stage of the 4-tier Performance Governance System, which serves as the PNP’s vehicle in fulfilling its vision to be a “highly capable, effective and credible police service” under its PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. PLAN 2030.”

On August 17, 2015, the office was presented with the Silver Eagle Award for its performance during the Compliance Stage. Northernforum.net
