CSU bests Region 2 schools in October 2018 CPA board exam

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan State University’s (CSU) College of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy (CBEA) ranked first among schools in Region 2 in the October 2018 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination.

The Professional Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results of the board exam early Tuesday morning, October 23, seven days after the exam.

Out of 22 schools in the region, CSU registered the highest passing rate of 73.33%, higher than the national passing rate of 25.19%.

This year’s performance of CSU improved as compared last year’s 59.26% passing rate.

“We are so glad to hear the news of the outstanding performance of CSUans and CBEAns who took the the CPA licensure examination. This is the result of the collective efforts of the takers, their teachers, and CSU administration. We vow to improve and to do even better,” said Prof. Antonia Josefa Taguinod, dean of CBEA.

Records released by PRC showed 33 of 45 CSU alumni takers passed the exam. First time takers posted a higher 78.05% passing rate.

Following CSU are University of St. Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) and Our Lady of the Pillar College of Cauayan with 70.27% and 47.06% respectively.

Northeastern College and St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) both ranked 4th with passing rates of 43.48%. Northernforum.net
