TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Two centenarians received P100,000 each from the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya as part of the local government’s centenarian incentive program.

The recipients are Miyuna Dinangwayan of Ambaguio town and Daniel Sagadraca of Bagabag town.

Governor Carlos Padilla , Vice Governor Lambert Galima Jr, and several members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan joined together and personally handed over the checks to the centenarians.

The awarding ceremony was held during the flag ceremony at the Capitol’s Peoples Stage on Monday, March 12.

The program is made possible through Nueva Vizcaya’s Centenarian Ordinance which was approved in 2013.

The ordinance aims to provide assistance to the elderly for “being models of good health and longevity.”

The provincial government also said in a release that the program awards Novo Vizcayanos who reach 100 years of age, in recognition of their “self-discipline, healthy lifestyle” and clean living practices worthy of emulating.”

Last July 2017, the provincial government also awarded same incentives to four other centenarians. Northernforum.net
