A Must-See for “Breaking Bad” Enthusiasts: Walter White’s House Is on the Market
Exciting news for “Breaking Bad” aficionados—the famous residence of Walter White is set to hit the market, as reported by Albuquerque’s KOB-4. This particular home has become a landmark for fans of the acclaimed television series.
Located in the northeast section of Albuquerque, this piece of TV history is about to be listed with a price tag of $4 million. Despite the home’s modest estimated value of approximately $350,000 according to its “Zestimate,” its iconic status commands a much higher asking price.
The reason for this steep price is the home’s continued allure to global fans, even though the series concluded over ten years ago. Originally, the house was purchased in 1973 by Fran and Louis Padilla, who were the owners when the show’s location scouts chose it for Walter White’s abode.
The Padillas, who raised their children in the 1,900-square-foot residence, experienced firsthand the house’s transformation into a fan favorite. Their daughter, Joanne Quintana, recounted to KOB-4 how fans frequently visited, asking for photos and at times even knocking on their door. The attention eventually led to the family erecting a fence around the property. As years passed and her parents aged, the Padilla children decided it was time to put the house on the market following their parents’ passing.
The interior of the house was mainly used for storage and staging, while the outside was featured prominently in the series, including a notable scene in the family’s pool. Quintana suggested that the next owner might consider converting the home into a museum or a dedicated tribute to “Breaking Bad,” fulfilling the wishes of the legion of fans who continue to visit.
This unique listing not only offers a significant piece of television history but also serves as a potential pilgrimage site for the show’s enduring fanbase, suggesting that its future, much like its past, will be anything but ordinary.
