Duterte names former Isabela first lady Dy as RDC 2 co-Chair

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has appointed Doctor Cecilia La Madrid Dy as new Co-Chairperson of the National Economic Development Authority-Regional Development Council (RDC) Region 02.
In a press release, RDC said Dy will serve as co-chair of the council with its chair Quirino Governor Junie Cua until 2019.
Dy previously served the RDC as a Private Sector Representative for Commerce, Industry, Tourism, and Services and former head of the monitoring committee.
The reorganization of the RDC 2 is a result of the expiration of the term of office of the appointed and elected council officials and members as guided by the RDC 2 Resolution No. 02-12-2016, RDC said in a release.
The Regional Development Council (RDC) is the highest planning and policy-making body in the region. It serves as the counterpart of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board at the sub-national level. It is the primary institution that coordinates and sets the direction of all economic and social development efforts in the region. It also serves as a forum where local efforts can be related and integrated with regional and national development activities.
Born in Naguilian, Isabela, the new co-chair married former Isabela Governor and Cauayan City Mayor Benjamin De Guzman Dy.
She is a Board of Regent Member of the Isabela State University, Employer Representative to the Regional Wage and Productivity Board of Region II, and former Head of the National Committee on Communication of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – Sub-Committee on Dissemination.
Dr. Dy is very active in professional organizations, trade and industry, and religious organizations, like the Federation of Business and Professional Women of the Phil., National Council of Women of the Phil., Women’s Federation for World Peace, Inner Wheel Club, Jaycees International, Federation of International Cable TV and Telecommunication Association of the Phil., Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Spirit of Love Charismatic Community.
She also served as Chairperson of the Cagayan Valley Regional Tourism Council (CVRTC). Board Member Maria Olivia Pascual now chairs the CVRTC. RF/Northernforum.net
