TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A multi-purpose commercial and convention center worth P250 million will soon rise at Barangay Alibagu in the City of Ilagan, according to Mayor Josemarie Diaz.
Diaz said the construction would take about one and a half years after its groundbreaking. We have to prepare the economic stimulus so that, simultaneously, we have to address the impact of this pandemic,” the mayor said.
He also said the efforts taken by the local government unit is in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic so that while there is still a crisis, there should also be improvements. The city is undertaking different infrastructure projects to uphold the government’s vision to be a livable city by 2030. “Today marks another milestone of the City of Ilagan, as we embark on building a new landmark not only for the city but for the entire region,” Diaz added.
Meanwhile, one of the nearly-completed infrastructures is the City of Ilagan Medical Center located at barangay Lullutan and medical personnel are all set for the operations of the city hospital that will cater the medical needs of Ilagueños. Moreover, the mayor cited some projects like improvement of the street scape of Provincial and City Roads, a commercial building in front of ISU Ilagan, the city of llagan Hotel, and now the construction of a multi-purpose commercial and convention center.
“Despite the many catastrophes that were faced by the city like the COVID-19 pandemic, typhoons, floods and drought, the city government still stands and will continue its mission to make the lives of Ilaguenos comfortable,” he added.
