As of October, the Consumer Price Index shows that prices were up 2.6% from the previous year. Although this rate is considerably lower than most of 2022 and 2023, it’s an uptick from September’s figures.

This persistent inflation signals that the economic challenges of high prices are far from resolved, indicating the Federal Reserve must continue its efforts to stabilize the economy, according to economists.
