2 suspects in ‘Gonzaga massacre’ arrested

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Authorities have arrested 2 suspects implicated in the kill*ng of 5 family members and a farmer in Gonzaga town in Cagayan province.

In a report, Cagayan provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Warren Tolito said the court ordered the arrest of Samy Oandasan, 41, and Sam Oandasan, 28, also from Gonzaga, Cagayan.

The suspects, who are also relatives to the victims, are facing charges for the alleged m*rder of 6 people in Sitio San Francisco, Barangay Ipil in Gonzaga.

Police are looking into the land disputes between the families as possible motive in the crime.

The suspects were identified by witnesses, police said.

On Saturday, December 15, residents discovered the lifeless bodies of the victims outside their house. Their bloods had already been washed off by rainwaters.

Police said the m*rder may have happened on Friday night, December 14.

The victims were identified as Dizon Oandasan Sr. 42, a farmer and the father of the family, Sany Oandasan, 47, mother, Wilson Oandasan, 13, Karen Oandasan, 12, Dizon Oandasan Jr., 5, and Juanito Soliva, 53, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Palaui Island of Sta Ana town, who was only visiting the Oandasan household.

A 3-year old boy has survived the k*lling and is now undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Investigators said the suspects also used guns, prior to hacking some of the victims. Northernforum.net
