TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A P39 million worth facility will rise in Santiago City to boost the aquaculture industry, specifically for Tilapia fingerlings.
Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Technical Director Rose Mary Aquino lauded the proponent group and the city government of Santiago for supporting the enterprise funded under the DA’s special project budget.
Aquino also said that the proponent group will produce and sell sex-reversed tilapia fingerlings which, in turn, will be sold to the cooperative members engaged in tilapia grow-out production.
The LGU on the other hand, said they will continue to work with the agriculture department to implement interventions for farmers and Fisher folk.
Once completed, the DA assured that it will strengthen the fishery and will be able to provide economic activities in the city.TNF
