TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Gattaran town’s most wanted person and four other suspects from Cagayan and Isabela were nabbed in the police’s intensified campaign on Oplan Manhunt Charlie this week.
Gattaran Police arrested Oscar Umali alyas “Oka,” 51, the town’s top wanted person, on Wednesday, March 21.
The team led by station chief Police Chief Inspector Rodel Tabulog arrested Umali by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 08, Aparri, Cagayan Judge Oscar Zaldivar.
Umali is charged with four counts of rape, docketed under Criminal Cases No. II-14088, II-14089, II-14090, II-14091 with no bail recommended.
Umali is a resident of Sitio Pinutulan, Barangay Capissayan Norte, of the said town.
Meanwhile, Aparri Police nabbed farmer Ramces Duritan, 38, by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Aparri RTC Branch 06 Judge Neljoe Cortes.
Duritan is facing charges in violation of section 11, article II of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” His case is docketed under Criminal Case No. II-14084 with a recommended bail of P200,000.
The following day, Ricky Pascual, 41, was arrested in Barangay Malamag East, Tumauini, Isabela for qualified trespass to dwelling.
Police also caught Jaype Cabasag, 31, in Agugaddan, Peñablanca for the crime of attempted homicide; and Charito Nacino, 50, of Tagaran, Cauayan City, Isabela for adultery on the same day.
Cagayan Valley Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino said the region’s police force will continue its relentless effort in capturing wanted persons under Manhunt Charlie to ensure public safety and security.
“We should take extra effort to hunt these criminal elements to prevent them from committing their nefarious activities,” Espino added in a press release. Northernforum.net
