TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) arrested two (2) big-time suspected drug personalities in the municipality of Jones, Isabela yesterday, May 2, 2019.
Suspects were identified as Wilfred Betita and Jessie Pascual who are of legal age, married and both residents of Brgy. Sta Isabel, Jones, Isabela. Betita was known to be a member of PAG Raspado.
Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO), Provincial Director, PCOL Mariano C. Rodriguez said that there was an information received from a confidential informant pointing the suspects on a motorcycle carrying explosives, high powered firearm and undetermined quantities of illegal drugs particularly Shabu and Marijuana.
Subsequently, the PNP/COMELEC checkpoint was established by the personnel of Jones PS and 2nd Coy IPMFC in coordination to the Election Officer of Jones. Afterwards, personnel of RID2/RDEU, Jones PS, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Coy IPMFC and PIB-IPPO conducted police operation against the suspects which yielded to their arrest during the checkpoint at Brgy. Dibuluan, Jones.
Rodriguez stated that the suspects were flagged down at the checkpoint, and they momentarily stopped, but suddenly sped off, thus, the personnel at the checkpoint immediately chased and cornered them at Purok 4, Brgy. Dibuluan, Jones.
Meanwhile, police confiscated one caliber 45 pistol, one magazine for caliber 45, eight live ammunition for caliber 45, two hand grenades, two transparent sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, three transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance, one unit Yamaha motorcycle, one unit Baja motorcycle, two hand held radio, one handheld radio charger, document containing the photographs of Leticia Sebastian, Nestor Apolinario and Melvin Go with caption “target and target priority,” one sling bag, one backpack, one unit cellphone, one wallet and other personal belongings of the suspects.
Jones Chief of Police, PCPT Fernando Mallilin Jr. assumed that the suspects may have plan to kill the said targets.
The suspects shall face the cases for violation of RA 9516 in relation to the Omnibus Election Code and violation of RA 9165 filed against them. northernforum.net
