Aparri, Cagayan – Two police officers have been shot and injured by two security guards early on Sunday, May 7 in Aparri, Cagayan.
The police officers were identified as 32-year-old Police Corporal Rannie Torrano from Lal-lo; and 28-year-old Police Corporal Ryan Rayray from Aparri.
Both police officers are assigned at the Aparri Police Station.
Based on the report, the cops were out on monitoring duty at a store in Barangay Macanaya in the said coastal town when the two security guards showed up.
The security guards alias Joseph and alias Sherwin allegedly forced the store owner to allow them to consume alcoholic drinks at the store.
Due to their unruly behavior, the cops called the guards’ attention which resulted to the shooting.
The report states that one of the guards immediately pointed and shot his firearm at the cops after they were called out.
PCpl Torrano suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and right leg, while PCpl Rayray contracted a flesh wound on his left leg from the shooting.
Both security guards who were locals of the said town were immediately arrested after the incident, while both police officers are safe and are recovering at a local hospital.
Both suspects are now under the custody of Aparri PNP. TNF
