However, her latest YouTube video, which garnered attention on October 29, revealed a situation that many found troubling. During her visit to the popular amusement park with a group of friends, she documented their experiences, but what drew criticism was the method they employed to bypass the long queues.
The controversial video, as reported by Fanpage, showcased how the group strategized to use the special pass designed for visitors with disabilities, known as the Attractions Assistance Pass. This pass allows individuals with certain vulnerabilities to gain immediate access to attractions, along with up to five companions. However, in De Pandis’s case, her group consisted of twelve people, raising concerns about the legitimacy of their claim to need two passes.
It has been suggested that two members of the group may have falsely represented themselves as having anxiety-related conditions to qualify for the Disability Pass. This pass is not only applicable to physical disabilities but also includes cognitive impairments, which adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
The cost of a ticket to Universal Studios can be steep, reaching up to 139 dollars, depending on the attractions selected. Additionally, the Express Pass, which allows guests to skip lines, starts at 120 dollars. In contrast, the Disability Pass is provided at no charge for eligible guests. Based on what De Pandis shared in her video, her group managed to obtain the Disability Pass, a detail that has since been circulated widely on TikTok.
As the discussion continues to unfold online, reactions and comments are flooding in, prompting De Pandis to defend herself publicly. In her statement to Webboh, she acknowledged her mistake in obtaining the pass, expressing regret while clarifying, “We made a mistake by using the pass to skip the line, and I admit it, but I certainly did not mock children with Down syndrome. There is no logical connection, and no one mentioned disabilities to make fun. It was done in a moment of immaturity, and I am sorry for that. I removed that part to avoid normalizing something that is wrong.”
