TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the nomination of former Tuguegarao Vice Mayor lawyer Engelbert “Jojo” Calubaquib Caronan as President/CEO of the Development Academy of the Philippines.

Reliable sources in Malacañang said the information was relayed to the Board of Trustees of DAP by no less than its Executive Secretary Salvador  Medialdea in a letter dated April 19, 2018.

The President, during the inauguration of the Lal-lo Airport last month, has openly appreciated the intelligence and capabilities of the Cagayanos which resulted in the inclusion of Cagayanos in his Cabinet.

Caronan is a full-blooded Ibanag.

The academy was created under Presidential Degree No. 205 on June 7, 1973, just a year after the proclamation of Martial law.

“If the military has its Philippine Military Academy as school for their officers, there ought to be a development-oriented academy for the civilian bureaucracy,” DAP stated on its website. Northernforum.net
