TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Authorities eradicated Marijuana plantations in Tinglayan, Kalinga on March 11, 2020.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cagayan Valley Regional Director Atty. Gelacio Bongngat said that estimated worth of the Marijuana is P61 million.
In addition, the area size of the Marijuana plantation is 2.4 hectares.
Bongngat also said that the area operated was sporadic which made them a hard time to eradicate all Marijuana plants.
Meanwhile, according to the data provided by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), they have eradicated 87,000 grams of dried leaves amounting P10.1 million, Marijuana seeds of 5000 grams amounting to P125, 000 and fully grown Marijuana with 153, 000 pieces of plants amounting to P50 million.
Furthermore, Bongngat said that the cultivators of these plantations could also be residence of the area where the Marijuana was eradicated.
Lastly, PDEA also operated in the same town last 2017 and 2018.
According to Bongngat this latest operation is the largest compared to the past eradicated plantations in Tinglayan.
The eradication was operated by NBI, PDEA, Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
